Produce News
BELL PEPPERS - Volume has improved a lot over the last few weeks. Quality is also very good.
BROCCOLI - Demand is still high, with not much available right now.
CUCUMBERS - Look for this market to settle soon. Supply is still a bit off from previous years but will be increasing. Quality is fair to good now.
LETTUCE - The market is mostly steady with demand being light. Leaf Lettuce is gaining strength as new fields become ready for winter harvest.
POTATOES - Russets are becoming available out of Idaho again which will help other potato areas that have not been able to keep up with the demand.
TOMATOES - Florida was really hit harder then first thought by hurricanes this past season. With that many of the suppliers still do not have enough tomatoes to meet with current demands.
CANTALOUPE - Supplies continue to be light, this is mainly due to an outbreak of disease in many of the Arizona fields. The market will continue to be very tight on them.
GRAPES - The California season is starting to wind down. We will see more imports from Chile in the weeks to come. Quality has been very good so far and the pricing remains strong.
STRAWBERRIES - Harvest production still remains down, due to rain issues late in the harvesting season. Imports have not yet hit full availability. Quality is fair.
